Happy New Year! We are wishing everyone a safe and healthy 2021.
As you may know, currently our face to face mentoring programs (Family Match and School Grandparent Programs) are on hold because of the Pandemic. We continue to support existing volunteers and families but at this time we are not accepting new applicants into our program.
Letters to Seniors Program Update: At the beginning of February 2021, the funding from the Government of Canada (administered by the United Way of the Lower Mainland) will be coming to an end for our Letters to Seniors Program. Despite our funding coming to an end, we are committed to delivering this program until at least August 2021; we have seen how positively impactful the program has been for our community, not only for the seniors receiving the kind messages but also for the youth and individuals who have volunteered in this program.
We have been busy applying for additional funding streams to enable us to continue to deliver our meaningful program. If you would like to make a contribution to ensure the longevity of this new program, you can click here to make a donation. Tax receipts are automatically issued. We thank you for your financial support!
If you would like to participate in our Letters to Seniors Program, please send us an email at info@volunteergrandparents.ca to request more information. We are also seeking more seniors who would like to participate in Phase 2 of the program and become a pen pal!
We invite you to follow us on our social media sites (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram) to stay connected with us.
Stay connected with one another in a safe way.
